After our adventure on the road in Rajasthan, we returned to Jaipur to the wonderful Pearl Palace Heritage Hotel. This Hotel is one couple’s work of art. Creating this hotel is their passion. Several stories high, they have only redone the first few floors, each room unique and a work of art. Take a moment to appreciate…
The entry – all hand painted with marvelous photos of the old Rajas
Every room has it’s own story and theme.
We had the pleasure of seeing the next floor where the work was in progress. This floor should be finished now and I am sure they have many new photos online.

For years I have been dreaming of a Tiger Safari and Glamping (Glamour Camping) at one of the beautiful resorts next to the Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan, India. I decided on the Khem Villas which featured beautiful tents and an authentic experience. It was lovely and I want one of theses tents! I actually discovered where to buy them in India, so who knows, maybe one day I will be selling fabulous tents…P.S. Never saw a Tiger – everyone else at the camp did. Oh well, they were hiding.
Glamorous Tents abounded
Check ou the wonderful tent with bath and terrace…
and now the Safari
This was the only Tiger I saw….and he was in the library
But we did manage to make two papers in India….what does it say? (We look rather like celebrities,) but it is a long story involving a little excitement and adventure with a happy ending!
Tassels were everywhere in India – On camels, buses, elephants but where to buy them? I could not find a tassel shop…
Et Voila the Camel Store! Tassels galore and fabulous Camel Helmets. The Indian’s know how to decorate!
We fell in love with Indian Garden Umbrellas which came in various colors and patterns so I bought six or seven to bring home. Take look at the video link to see all the choices .
Chan Luu always unique and sensual…make your Holiday sizzle.

Driving through old Jaipur in a Tuk Tuk (see photo) is crazy – the road is not only dangerous, but loud and smelly! The Indian technique is to take any available space or lane…dodging bicycles, tuk tuks, camels, monkeys, goats, elephants, cows, cars and buses. The horn honking is constant as each driver let’s you know he is coming, so get out of his way! You have never heard such noise.
It was a bit crazy at first but we managed to locate the special vendors we were looking for.
We found wonderful vintage handcrafted tribal bags in several shapes and styles. I won’t bore you with words… take a look! We bought four of this and a few of that, they are very special pieces and limited.
Our first stop in India was Jaipur, Rajasthan. This is home to the Pink City surrounded by it’s many shopping Bazaars – trying to see them all is a full time job! I am in love with the Rajasthani floor cushions and poufs. They will be in Island Girl Miami in time for the Holidays. This is truly something special under the sun…
Which one is your favorite?

In Singapore where we stayed in a marvelous boutique hotel, Scarlets in the old Colonial Chinatown. The buildings were colorful and charming and surrounded by skyscrapers. Singapore is famous for it’s melting pot of cultures and their outstanding Street Food Stalls. We ate to our hearts content from almost every Asian cuisine.
